It also features an updated roster, allowing you to play as your favorite wrestlers, as well as the game’s legends.

Furthermore, the game returns with 2K Showcase: a story-driven single-player campaign that puts you in the shoes of a rising star. This time, you’ll reach the top as Rey Mysterio. Unfortunately, fans are divided over the most important matches in the heavyweight wrestler’s career. For example, Kurt Angle was not included, while the late Eddie Guerrero was included, demonstrating that players won’t get everything.

Despite improved animation, graphics, and gameplay, the game still suffers from some issues. The online matchmaking system makes it difficult to connect to online multiplayer games. Also, while the General Manager (GM) mode returns, it is surprisingly narrower. There are fewer stars to choose from during the selection period, and the available belts have been reduced.

With positive improvements to gameplay, graphics, animation, and the roster, WWE 2K22 is a promising return for WWE game fans, especially after missing out on what was supposed to be 2K21. However, the game suffers from unnecessary changes made to previous versions, such as unstable online servers and a seemingly diminished GM Mode. Of course, an update or DLC could change all of that.
